Coca-Cola “Best Coke Ever?” A 3D bus shelter takeover that stopped Dublin in its tracks

Coca-Cola Best Coke Ever 3D bus shelter special build with oversized can bursting through ice in Dublin

Coca-Cola wanted to launch their “Best Coke Ever?” campaign with something that would genuinely stop people on the street. A standard bus shelter poster was never going to deliver the impact they needed for a campaign this bold.

What we built

We created a dramatic 3D bus shelter takeover featuring an oversized Coca-Cola can crashing through a bed of ice, breaking out of the shelter frame entirely. The special build transformed a standard Dublin bus shelter into a showstopping street-level installation that people could not walk past without looking twice.

The tagline “Time To Try The Best Coke Ever?” was integrated into the shelter panels, with the 3D can element extending beyond the standard shelter dimensions to create genuine physical depth and presence on the streetscape.

Why 3D bus shelter advertising works

Bus shelters sit at eye level on busy pavements. People wait beside them, walk past them, and queue next to them every day. When you add a three-dimensional element that physically breaks out of the frame. That disruption creates genuine stopping power.

For Coca-Cola, a brand with near-universal recognition, the challenge is not awareness but attention. The 3D build gave the campaign a physical presence that flat media simply cannot match, generating social shares and word-of-mouth that extended the campaign well beyond the shelter location.

The XL Media approach

Bus shelter special builds require precision engineering within tight structural constraints. Every element must be weatherproof, secure, and compliant with street furniture regulations while still delivering maximum visual impact.

– 3D can and ice elements engineered for bus shelter dimensions

– Full structural assessment and compliance sign-off

– In-house fabrication and finishing

– On-site installation by the XL Media crew

– Built to withstand Dublin weather for the full campaign period
